1. Environmental Regulations
We are committed to conducting sustainable business with a focus on environmental management and pollution control as mandated by law. In Thailand, we have achieved the prestigious Green Industry Level 2 certification and been honoured with the Environmental Good Governance award, symbolising our outstanding success in environmental management and pollution control for society.
2. Energy Efficiency
We are dedicated to developing our organisation with environmental care, driving various initiatives to maximise energy efficiency from production processes, transportation, and energy usage within buildings.
– Utilising clean energy from solar panels has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 1,382 TonCO2 since 2019, equivalent to planting 992 trees and counting.
– Transitioning to high-efficiency Servo Motors has reduced GHG emissions by 11,517.70 kgCO2eq, equivalent to planting 16 trees per year.
– Replacing fluorescent bulbs with LED bulbs has reduced GHG emissions by 10,113.98 kgCO2eq, equivalent to planting 14 trees per year.
– Switching to private courier services for long-distance shipments with small quantities of items. We opt for private courier services instead of company vehicles because couriers consolidate multiple parcel deliveries into one trip using the Carpooling concept. Therefore, it helps reduce fuel usage, decrease the number of trips by company vehicles, and lower GHG emissions. PAC (Thailand) has also received the CFO (Carbon Footprint Organization) Certificate, with GHG emissions amounting to 174 TonCO2e per year, comprising Scope 1 Direct GHG emissions and Scope 2 Indirect energy GHG emissions. It demonstrates our organization’s commitment to sustainable environmental practices.
3. Mottainai Concept
We have applied the Japanese concept of Mottainai, which conveys a sense of regret over waste, to waste reduction efforts by enhancing the value of unused material through upcycling processes.
– Weaving scrub fabric from polyester fiber derived from recycled plastic bottles (rPET) saves 7 to 11 1.5-liter bottles per suit
– Utilising recycled polyester fabric for employee uniforms reduces CO2 emissions by 3.39 to 4.29 kgCO2 per uniform, equivalent to driving 33.09 to 36.09 km
– Installing hand wash basins on restroom cisterns to reuse water from hand washing for toilet flushes
– Managing wastes by categorizing and sending them to responsible agencies for further processing
– Encouraging staff to bring their reusable containers to reduce plastic waste generation
– Producing organic compost from factory leaf litter instead of burning it Our company focuses on developing and cultivating employee awareness to maximise resource utilisation. This commitment is integral to driving initiatives to advocate for environmental sustainability while continually enhancing the quality of life for Thai society.
4. R&D projects
4.1 Closed loop project
Since our garments are crafted from polyester fibers—a type of plastic that poses challenges for eco-friendly disposal, whether through incineration or landfill—we have partnered with an external company to bring this initiative to life. Our goal is to give new purpose to our products, extending their value even after they have reached the end of their lifecycle. The process unfolds as follows:
– We collect garments from customers once they are no longer usable and have reached the end of their lifecycle.
– The expired garments are then sent to an external company to be carefully dismantled and shredded into small pieces.
– These small pieces are processed and transformed into fibers.
– The fibers are woven into fresh rolls of fabric.
– Finally, the fabric rolls are cut and sewn into new garments, ready to begin their cycle anew.
4.2 Developing eco-friendly shoe soles by upcycling used inner tube tire truck rubbers
Our development of shoe soles from up-cycled inner tube tire rubber represents a significant step toward addressing the environmental challenges posed by the footwear industry. By transforming waste into valuable resources, we create durable, sustainable products that appeal to consumers and promote a greener future. As the trend of upcycling continues to grow, we are proud to be at the forefront of this movement, paving the way for a more responsible and eco-conscious industry.
